Writing Lincoln Initiative Marathon Oct. 2021
Reading Time: < 1 minute

On Sat. October 16th, the Writing Lincoln Initiative met up in Pioneers Park for a 3-hour long writing marathon.

The marathon included six UNL graduate students/TAs, one UNL lecturer, three UNL undergraduate students, two local community members, and three retired LPS teachers (who were also former members of NeWP).

The writers split into four groups and explored different areas of the park, pausing to write and share when the group leaders felt it was needed, and returned to share writing as a whole group and discuss the marathon in general.

Many attendees expressed their gratitude for the event and one even said they wished it had been longer, and almost everyone agreed. Because of how smoothly this went, WLI plans on hosting another in the spring, likely in early April.
